Uranium supply gap widens as reactor demand firms

Years of underinvestment in mine supply meet renewed reactor demand, including from compute.

Primary uranium production has run below reactor requirements for over a decade, with the difference met from secondary inventories that are now depleted. Life extensions, new construction and small modular reactor programmes have simultaneously firmed the demand side.

New mine supply requires sustained higher prices and, in most jurisdictions, close to a decade of development.
